Gold filled jewelry is perfect for everyday wear, composing of a solid layer of gold that is bonded to another base metal, such as sterling silver, or copper. Unlike gold plated jewelry, which has only a thin layer of gold plated over another metal, gold filled jewelry has a thick coat of gold, making jewelry last a long time, being resistant to wear and tear. Gold filled jewelry is less expensive than solid gold jewelry, but is just as durable. It is hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin.
